PURPOSE: A log statistical process in an asynchronous transmission mode(ATM) exchanger is provided so that a traffic can be relaxed and the exchanger's performance can be easily measured by the statistical data. CONSTITUTION: A log statistical process in an ATM exchanger includes the following steps.the user inputs an item to be statistically processed and a statistical command from a start time to an end time. A server analyzes a time band by comparing the start/end time with a current time. When the statistical process time band is after the current time, the statistical command is transmitted to the exchanger. When the time band is before the current time, a file of the corresponding item is opened and statistically processed When the time band includes the current time, the statistical command is divided into the start time to the current time, and the current time to the end time, and individually statistically processed. As a result, the command transmitted from the server to the exchanger is separately processed, thereby reducing a load of the exchanger.
