摘要 PURPOSE: Calibrating cameras used in alignment of wheels are provided to determine the spatial position and relative orientation of a pair of electronic cameras used to optically determine the alignment of motor vehicle wheels. CONSTITUTION: Calibrating cameras used in alignment of wheels is used for calibrating an opto-electric alignment system used to align motor vehicle wheels. The apparatus including first (162) and second (164) targets rigidly affixed to a beam (160). During calibration both targets are viewed by a first inspection device when the beam is placed normal to the imaginary line connecting the first inspection device and a second inspection device of the alignment system. Then the beam is moved parallel to the imaginary line and the first target is viewed by the first optical inspection device and the second target is viewed by the second inspection device.
