PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alternator for vehicle in which the sliding parts of brush and slip ring are provided with a point for preventing water, oil, dust, etc., from entering and a point for discharging the abrasive powder of brush efficiently. SOLUTION: A hole 46 for discharging the abrasive powder of a brush 21 from the inside of a slip ring cover 43 by the negative pressure created through rotation of a cooling fan 20 is cut through a flange section 45 formed integrally with a rear frame between a bearing holder 44 for ball bearing 17 and the slip ring cover 43 surrounding the sliding parts of brush 21 and slip ring 15. Foreign matter barrier walls 47, 48 are raised from the outer and inner side faces at the flange section 45 while surrounding the abrasive powder discharge hole 46 in order to block entering of a foreign matter into the slip ring cover 43 through the abrasive powder discharge hole 46. |
