PURPOSE: A record medium driving apparatus is provided to record a servo signal for a position control on a magnetic record medium in a drive system itself of the magnetic record medium which uses an embedded servo way. CONSTITUTION: A record medium driving apparatus comprises a magnetic head(310), a spindle motor(320), a micro step motor(330), a micro controller(340), first and second digital-to-analog converters(350,360), first and second step motor drivers(370,380), a read/write circuit(390), a spindle motor driver(400), an interface part(410) and a memory(420). The micro controller(340) deciphers a position information signal read out from a magnetic disk(450) through the magnetic head(310) to calculate a shifting position between tracks of the head(310). The controller(340) generates a digital phase control signal for driving the micro step motor(330), a control signal for driving the spindle motor(320), and a control signal for reading or writing data, in response to the calculated value. The first micro step motor driver(370) controls a first phase current flow for a driving of the micro step motor(330) of a second phase according to an output signal of the converter(350). The second micro step motor driver(380) controls a second phase current flow for a driving of the micro step motor(330) of a second phase according to an output signal of the converter(360). The read/write circuit(390) is controlled by a control signal from the controller(340), and controls the reading and the writing of the head(310). The spindle motor driver(400) drives the spindle motor(320) according to the control of the controller(340).
