摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress creep discharge generated on a spacer surface and to provide an image of high brightness and high precision by forming a high- resistance film in the surface of a spacer arranged between an electron source and an electrode and a low-resistance film in the area opposite to the electron source. SOLUTION: A spacer 1020 is constituted of a member having a high- resistance film formed in an insulating member for preventing electrification and a low-resistance film formed in a side part in contact with the inside of a face plate 1017 and an abutment face of the spacer facing to the surface of a substrate 1011. The high-resistance film is electrically connected to a metal back 1019 and a line direction wire 1013 via the resistance film. The spacer 1020 has an insulating performance bearing the high voltage applied between the metal back 1019 and the line direction wire 1013 and has the conductivity as preventing the electrification to the surface of the spacer 1020. To quickly remove the charge generated on the surface of the spacer 1020, an intermediate layer of the low-resistance is provided on the abutment face or the side part so as to prevent the discharge from generated.
