PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exposure device with arrayed light emitting elements that can obtain a satisfactory image with a simple means by constituting an image forming means with lens groups corresponding to respective light emitting element array in one to one and controlling light emitting timing for the respective light emitting element arrays in accordance with the distance on an image carrier where light flux is image-formed. SOLUTION: An image forming means is formed of lens groups corresponding to respective light emitting element arrays in one to one and light emitting timing for respective light emitting element arrays is controlled in accordance with the distance on an image carrier where light flux from the respective light emitting element arrays is image-formed. For example, the light emitting element chips on the side of a column represented by the light emitting element chip CH 21 are lighted. Then, a latent image is formed at a position A since an image forming point exists at the position A on a photoreceptor drum 2. The photoreceptor drum 2 is rotated in the direction of an arrow and a latent image forming position by CH 21 reaches a position B after the time t=D/v from the formation of the latent image when drum peripheral speed on the surface of the photoreceptor drum is denoted (v). The light emitting element chips on the side of the column represented by the light emitting element chip CH 12 are lighted.
