PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an incinerator, high in a combustion efficiency and very little in the amount of soot and smoke, generated due to incomplete combustion. SOLUTION: An incinerator 1 is equipped with a furnace main body 2, having an air intake port 23, a matter to be incinerated charging port and an ash discharging port 25, an exhaust gas combustion tube 3, extended from the upper part of the furnace main body 2 to the vicinity of the upper surface of the bottom plate 21 of the furnace main body 2, and a bulkhead 4, provided in the furnace main body 2 around the exhaust gas combustion tube 3 with a predetermined space between the exhaust gas combustion tube 3 and provided with venting holes 41. A space surrounded by the furnace main body 2 and the bulkhead 4 constitutes an incinerating chamber 6 while the other space, surrounded by the bulkhead 4 and the exhaust gas combustion tube 3, constitutes an air flow passage 7.
