The instrument consists of a flat base marked with the different cases and the appropriate noun and adjectival endings, and a rotary disc marked with typical adjective and noun roots (5) for different genders, and having notches (4) which display the correct endings when the disc is aligned with the case required. The flat base can be made from cardboard, stiff paper or plastic, and it can be e.g. square, round, rectangular or polygonal in shape. The disc is attached to it by a rivet or eyelet fastener so it can be rotated relative to the base.
