BACTERIAL YCFB POLYPEPTIDE FAMILY

摘要

This invention relates to a family of bacterial polypeptides which are considered essential for gowth of both gram negative and gram positive bacteria. The family has been identified by a number of methods including computer based algorithms. The use of such polypeptides and the genes which encode them as tools for identifying novel broad spectrum antibiotics is described.
