PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve reliability by transforming combustion in a stable condition even when fuel nature is changed, resulting in combustion failure at the time of start. SOLUTION: Whether a combustion failure condition at the time of a start exists or not is judged based on the operation condition of an engine, under a condition for supplying gaseous fuel by feedback control via a fuel injecting means; and when a combustion failure condition at the time of a start is judged, the change of the kind or nature of the gaseous fuel is judged, to correct at least one of an air-fuel ratio correction value in a feedback control used before, and the pressure and ingition timing of the gaseous fuel supplied to the fuel injecting means.
