PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reproduce a clear image free of voids or the like by a method wherein a thermal transfer ink layer with a thermoplastic elastomer used as a main binder is provided on one surface of a base film having a heat-resistant layer on the back side. SOLUTION: A thermal transfer recording medium suitable for a thermal peeling method can be obtained by using as a main binder a the thermoplastic elastomer which is an organic macromolecular polymer constituted of a hard segment (hard constituent) and a soft segment (soft constituent) and shows the same rubber elasticity as vulcanized rubber at a room temperature. When the hard segment is about 70% or more, on the occasion, a molecule restraining factor increases and the suitable rubber elasticity to be given to thermal transfer ink is,lost, while the elastomer is hardly dissolved in an organic solvent or the like which brings about the difficulty in manufacture. When the soft segment is more than about 70%, softness increases and consequently lowering of the solidity of an image to be formed and deterioration of shear properties of a layer of the thermal transfer ink are brought about. Therefore, the reproducibility of an image edge part lowers. |
