PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To fasten, pinch and support the vertical end edges of glass plates with a support metal fitting without boring the glass plates. SOLUTION: Upper sides and lower sides of a plurality of glass plates G erected in parallel are supported and fixed by an upper frame and a lower frame respectively, a support metal fitting constituted of a bolt 2 and a nut 3 pinching the butt joint section of the vertical sides of the glass plates G is fixed to a structure skeleton 8 to support the glass plates G in this support structure. The bolt 2 having a flange section 3a is inserted into a joint section between the vertical sides of the glass plates G, a nut 6 is screwed to the threaded section of the bolt 6 via ring-like buffers 4p, 5 to fasten and pinch from both face sides of the butt vertical end edges of the glass plates G, and one end side of the support metal fitting 1 is connected and fixed to the structure skeleton 8.
