PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely start an occupant protection device with a simple structure regardless of the collision form of a vehicle by comparing a value obtained on the basis of the measurement value by an impact measuring means with a threshold changing to speed according to a prescribed change pattern selected by a threshold change pattern selecting means. SOLUTION: The arithmetic part 58 of a starting control part 40 determines an arithmetic value f (G) from the measurement value G outputted from a floor sensor 32. A starting judgment part 50 is preliminarily provided with change patterns of threshold to speed, and it provides a threshold corresponding to the speed determined by the arithmetic part 58 according to the change patterns, and compares the threshold T with the arithmetic value f (G). Consequently, when the arithmetic value f (G) exceeds the threshold T, a starting signal A is outputted. On the other hand, a satellite sensor 30 outputs ON signal when a deceleration of a prescribed reference value or more is added to the vehicle, for example, and a threshold change pattern selection part 42 changes the change pattern of threshold to speed to another change pattern according to this ON signal. |
