PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lower the overall height of a storage rack by making size in a moving direction small for making a passage width of a stacker crane small, and eliminating feeding to a transfer device moving between both ends of a carriage for compactifying the transfer device, thus suppressing size of a lowermost stage of the storage rack small. SOLUTION: Transfer devices 2a and 2b are mounted onto a carriage 1 movable in a vertical direction of a stacker crane of an automated warehouse, and are movable in a longitudinal direction along the carriage 1. In such a case, the transfer devices 2a and 2b are equipped with turnable pallet engaging arms 4 engaging to a pallet P, and the pallet engaging arms 4 and driving devices 17 of the pallet engaging arms 4 fixed to the carriage 1 are coupled by means turning the pallet engaging arms 4.
