PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic photographing system with which a user an easily obtain a high quality image equal to a photographic image taken by a professional cameraman in the conventional manner. SOLUTION: This automatic photographing system is provided with an electronic camera 1, a monitor 2 displaying the image based on image data recorded on the recording element of the camera 1, a remote control device 3 for outputting a photographing signal while being held by the user who is a subject, and a computer 4 for receiving the photographing signal and controlling the camera 1. In the system, the camera 1 and the computer 4 are arranged to be separate bodies respectively, and a time difference is made between the time when the photographing signal is outputted and the time, when photographing is executed by the camera 1, whereby enough time can be secured until the user poses after he operates the remote control device and the image satisfied by the user is obtained.
