SURFACE MATERIAL FOR SUPPRESSING SURFACE WAVE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface material for surface wave suppression which is applied to structural members vibrated by vibration energy and members receiving acoustic vibration, embodies the prevention of the vibration occurring in surface waves, prevents the unstationary noise of the high frequencies extremely uncomfortable to man and prevents the deterioration of sound quality. SOLUTION: This surface material consists of extremely fine fiber groups of 0.0001 to 1.0 denier in single fiber fineness and <=21000 kgf/mm2 in modulus of longitudinal elasticity. The respective extremely fine fibers constituting the extremely fine fiber groups are assembled in the state that the fibers are vibrated with each other by vibration energy. The extremely fine fiber groups are either woven and knitted fabrics or nonwoven fabrics. The surface material for surface wave suppression is adequately disposed on the surface of a vibration transmission object, an object to be vibrated, a sound absorbing material and an acoustic material.
