PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain high quality images, even when a subject exhibits large variations in brightness or a subject exhibiting smaller variations in brightness than the average brightness, to prevent decrease in responsiveness and to fully maintain simultaneity of the image. SOLUTION: An image sensor is provided with a pixel line 76 for producing an amount of electrical charge corresponding to the amount of incident light, a collection electrode part 40 for collecting electrical charges produced by the pixel line 76 and a collecting gate part 30, which permits or inhibits input of electrical charge from the pixel line 76 to the collecting electrode part 40. Plural collecting electrodes 130A/130B, 131A/131B, 132A/132B, etc., and plural collecting gates 120A/120B, 121A/121B, 122A/122B, etc., are provided with respect to each of the pixels elements 110, 111, 112, etc. Also, a control part for individually controlling the plural collecting gates 120A/120B, 121A/121B, 122A/122B, etc., corresponding to each of the pixels 110, 111, 112, etc., are provided.
