PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce communication time in an automatic metering system utilizing a telephone line and to transmit a charge notice sheet to a conventional facsimile terminal. SOLUTION: A terminal 40 checks a meter 60 according to a metering request from a center device 10 and transmits the check result to the center device 10. The center device 10 receives the check result and calculates the charge. When a charge notice time comes, the center device 10 sends charge data to the terminal 40, which synthesizes a charge notice form stored in advance in a memory section with the charge data to generate charge notice sheet image data, and uses a facsimile terminal 31 to output a charge notice sheet. Since the terminal device 40 stores in advance the charge notice form, the center device 10 has only to send the charge data and the communication time and communication charge can be saved and the facsimile terminal 31 an also be used for daily transmission reception.
