PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To modify the low-temperature characteristics of the specific resistance of an electrotyte and a secular change of the electrolyte at a high temperature, by a method wherein a maleic acid salt is made to dissolve in a mixed solvent, which consists of a r-butyrolactone and an ethylene glycol containing the r-butyrolactone as its main solvent and containing the ethylene glycol as its subsolvent, and a 18-crown-6, which is shown by a specified formula, is added to the mixed solvent at a value in a specified range. SOLUTION: Maleic acid salt is made to dissolve in a mixed solvent, which consists of a r-butyrolactone and an ethylene glycol containing the r-butyrolactone as its main solvent and containing the ethylene glycol as its subsolvent, as a solute and 0.01 to 5.0 wt.% of a 18-crown-6, which is shown by the formula, is added to the mixed solvent. That is, the water in the mixed solvent produced at an ordinary ratio of ethylene glycol/water = 75/75 is substituted for the r-butyrolactone, the mixed solvent is set at a ratio of ethylen glycol/r-butyrolactone = 75/75 and moreover, the mixing ratio of the r-butyrolactone to the ethylene glycol is augmented in order. Therefore the more the amount of the r-butyrolactone is increased, the smaller the specific reistance value of an electrolyte at a low temperature is reduced. Further by adding the 18-crown-6, which is shown by the formula, an increase in the specific resistance value of the electrolyte is suppressed.
