PURPOSE: An apparatus for preventing the heat of a harmonic transformer is provided to be capable of preventing the generation of harmonic current as well as preventing heat due to the operation the harmonic transformer by supplying a power to a motor through the harmonic transformer only in an interval in which harmonic current is generated. CONSTITUTION: A zero crossing signal generator(110) generates the zero crossing signal of a power supplied from a power supply. A controller(120) generates a control signal for supplying a power to a motor when a predetermined time is elapsed from the zero crossing signal, and a control signal for supplying a power to the harmonic transformer only in an interval in which harmonic current is generated. A first triac(TRIAC1) switches the power supplied from the power supply to the motor by the control signal of the controller. A second triac(TRIAC2) supplies the power supplied through the first triac(TRIAC1) by the control signal from the controller to the motor through the harmonic transformer.
