PURPOSE: A scanning method of multifunction peripheral system of shuttle scanner is provided to prevent waste of time when scanning a manuscript by detecting a width of a document and controlling the scanning width according to the detected document width. CONSTITUTION: A scanning method of multifunction peripheral system of shuttle scanner including a shuttle scanner for scanning image data in the shuttle manner, and a frame base disposed with ribs attached with recognizable identification symbols such as bar code includes the steps of a first scanning for a scanning manuscript conveyed to the frame base with the shuttle scanner according to a scanning instruction, detecting whether an identification symbol is detected during the scanning, scanning width controlling for controlling the scanning width from the beginning position of the scanning to the position whether the identification symbol is detected if the identification symbol is detected, and a second scanning for the remaining parts of the manuscript excluded by the scanning width.
