PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for discharging papers printed at both sides are provided to remove the inconvenience to manually arrange printed papers in the sequence of page number in the both side printing since the papers are discharged in the face up manner in the sequence of page number automatically. CONSTITUTION: A method for discharging papers printed at both sides from a printer includes the steps of determining whether both side printing is to be performed or not(s100), alternatively selecting either a face down manner for discharging a paper of which printed side is to be upward or a face up manner for discharging a paper of which printed side is to be downward(s200), determining whether the face up manner is selected for discharging a paper(s300), operating a solenoid for discharging the paper in the face up manner by the rotation thereof, performing both side printing on a paper, discharging the paper in the selected face up/down manner(s400,s700), determining whether the discharge of printed paper is finished or not(s500), and stopping the operation of a solenoid for finishing the discharge operation.
