PURPOSE: A cathode in a cathode ray tube is provided to prevent a sleeve from being shaken or transformed owing to an external impact by coupling the sleeve and a holder at an outer side of the holder using a ribbon. CONSTITUTION: A cathode used in a cathode ray tube comprises a sleeve(101), a holder(103), and an electron radiation material(105). A heater for heating a cathode is inserted and installed in the sleeve(101). The sleeve(101) is assembled together with a disk(102), and an assembly of the disk(102) and the sleeve(101) is inserted in the holder(103). The sleeve(101) and the holder(103) are coupled at an outer side of the holder(103) using a ribbon(104). After annealing in a furnace of a hydrogen atmosphere at about 1000 deg.C, the electron radiation material(105) is coated on an upper surface of the disk(102).
