PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scroll compressor capable of enhancing its suction efficiency by disposing the center of a suction hole so as to be positioned at the outer side of the center line of a lap groove, and letting the optimum quantity of refrigerant gas flow in both of compression chambers formed at the inner and outer surface sides of the lap of a turning scroll. SOLUTION: In this scroll compressor comprising the refrigerant gas of compression chambers compressed by means of the relative movement of both of scrolls so as to allow the capacity to be decreased as both the scrolls are moved to the center direction of each scroll, wherein a stationary scroll over the end plate on which a spiral shaped lap 3b is erected, is meshed with a turning scroll in which a lap 4b is erected so as to be provided with plural compression chambers formed in between both the laps 3b and 4b, and with a suction hole 7 sucking refrigerant gas into the compression chambers in the axial direction of the stationary scroll by way of the suction pipe at the tip end part of a winding end 3d over the center line (a) of the lap groove 3c of the stationary scroll, the suction hole 7 is so disposed as to allow the center of the suction hole 7 to be positioned at the outer side of the center line (a) of the lap groove 3c.
