PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plate stock transfer system that can examine with ease whether its suction pads can suck plate stock normally or not. SOLUTION: A plate stock transfer system having a pad support 14 for supporting a plurality of suction pads 20, and a motor 17 for moving the pad support 14 vertically is advantageously provided with an immovable specimen 21 for suction test, a monitor means 40 to monitor the torque of the motor 17 when the pad support 14 is lifted with the suction specimen 21 sucked by the suction pads 20, and a suction pad examining means 39 to condemn the suction pads 20 as defective if the detection torque of the monitor means 40 falls below a preset value.
