PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To bleed air from a water pump with ease by eliminating a structure used only for air bleeding in the water pump which supplies cooling water to the cooling jackets of a cylinder block and cylinder head in a horizontal opposed engine and V engine. SOLUTION: A circular pump room 134 rotatably containing an impeller 133, an upper discharge passage 135 extending aslant upward to the upper end of the pump room 134 and a lower discharge passage 136 extending aslant downward to the lower end of the pump room 134 are formed in the pump housing 129 of a water pump 128, First and second connection pipes straightly extending to the extension lines of the upper and lower discharge passages are communicated to the upper and lower discharge passages 135 and 136 at their inner ends, and the outer end openings are connected to the pump housing 129 as first and second discharge ports.
