PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a windbreak fence for a road capable of securing a road scenery in summertime, closable by a simple operation at the time of strong wind, and easily installable by a simple structure. SOLUTION: A windbreak fence 100 is arranged at the shoulder of a road on the outside of the guide rail or guide rope 50 of the road for preventing the blow-in of the wind inside the road. This windbreak fence 100 is made up of supports 30 erected at the shoulder of the road, a fixed panel 10 fitted with a plurality of fixed side windbreak boards 12 by the supports 30 and arranged at equal intervals via vertical openings 13 of prescribed width, and a movable panel 20 assembled laterally movable to the fixed panel 10 and fitted with a plurality of movable side windbreak boards 22 of nearly the same size and interval as that of the fixed side windbreak boards 12. By laterally moving the movable panel 20 with regard to the fixed panel 10 for each season, an opening 40 in accordance with the widths of the windbreak 12, 22 is formed, or the entire surface is closed by the windbreak boards 12, 22.
