PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correctly detect the residual quantity and display the same even when the rolled paper is exchanged on the way by detecting the residual quantity of the rolled paper corresponding to the rotation angle speed component detected by a sensor means. SOLUTION: When a paper supply roller 12 is rotated and a part of the rolled paper P is detected, a folder F integrally formed with the paper feeding roller 12 is also rotated, so that the rotation frequency of the folder F is increased in accordance with the reduction of a diameter of the rolled paper P, and decreased in accordance with the increase of the diameter of the rolled paper P. Accordingly the rotation speed of the folder F can be detected only by counting a detecting signal (pulse) input from a rotary encoder during a specific time by an arithmetic and control part 10, and further the diameter of the rolled paper P can be judged, so that the residual quantity of the rolled paper P can be detected on the basis of the same. That is, the residual quantity can be correctly detected and displayed without resetting operation even when the rolled paper P is exchanged during the use.
