PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote control device for vehicle preventing the door lock from being actuated automatically in the idling condition and precluding the vehicle from being left idling. SOLUTION: This remote control device for a vehicle is equipped with a plurality of signal transmit request means 11-16 to send a transmit request signal, signal receiving means 22 and 24 to receive return signal in response to the transmit request signal, operation control means 20 and 48 to control the engine operating condition in accordance with reception or out of reception of a return signal by the receiving means, and a portable unit to send a return signal in response to the transmit request signal, wherein further a locking prohibit means is provided to prohibit the door lock 44 being put on when the engine is in operation under control of the control means 20 and 48. This prevents the door lock from being actuated automatically in the idling condition and precludes the vehicle from being left idling. |
