A magnetic disk cartridge (1) for enhancing the function of preventing a shutter member from coming off because of case deformation due to the shock or bend when the cartridge drops. A disk-shaped magnetic disk medium (6) is rotatably housed in a case (C) which is defined by an upper shell (2) and a lower shell (3). On the end portion of an engaging portion (46) engaging with one end portion of an elastic member (7) of a connecting plate portion (42) of a shutter member (4) for opening/closing a magnetic head loading opening (11) of the case (C), a restraining protrusion (47) is provided which protrudes into a slitlike opening (19) through which the engaging portion (46) slides, so as to restrain deformation of the upper shell (2) and the lower shell (3) in the direction where the slitlike opening (19) is narrowed.
