The sting-removal appliance consists of a suction nozzle (12) and pump (14,18). The area around the bite is given heat-treatment by a heater (30) directly integrated in the suction nozzle and switched on by a switch (34). The heater is a thermo-electric heating element, such as a halogen lamp. The suction pump consists of a cylinder (14) in which is an axially movable piston (18) defining an operating chamber (20) connected to the suction nozzle. The piston is locked by a bolt (38) in a position corresponding to the minimum volume, and is pre-tensioned by a spring (22) for increasing the volume of the operating chamber.
