PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a foam board having a fine and uniform cell structure by foaming a resin composition which consists mainly of a minor amount of an ultrahigh mol.wt. ethylene (co)polymer and a major amount of a propylene (co)polymer, both of the (co)polymers having a specified intrinsic viscosity. SOLUTION: A foam board is produced by preparing a mixture comprising a resin composition consisting mainly of (A) 100 pts.wt. propylene homopolymer or propylene-olefin copolymer having an intrinsic viscosity (at 135 deg.C, in tetralin) of 0.2-10 dl/g and (B) 0.01-5.0 pts.wt. ethylene homopolymer or ethylene-olefin copolymer (this copolymer having an ethylene unit content of at least 50 wt.%) having an intrinsic viscosity (at 135 deg.C, in tetralin) of 15-100 dl/g and a blowing agent which produces a under heating or vacuum, molding the mixture into a board, and foaming the board by heating or vacuum.
