PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structural member being surely combined while constitution is simple and to provide a method for producing the structural member. SOLUTION: The structural member 20 is formed by winding an uncured prepreg on a mandrel 23. The structural member 20 is equipped with a hollow structural member 21 formed by curing of the prepreg wound on the mandrel 23 and with end part joint metal fittings 22 which are provided on the opening end part side of the hollow structural member 21 and have a projection engaged with the internal wall side of the hollow structural member 21 on the outer peripheral face.
