OPTICAL SCANNING APPARATUS

PURPOSE: An optical scanning apparatus is to optimize the minimization of its structural figure by reducing the path of an optical scanning line on a non-image region without effecting on the optical scanning on an image region. CONSTITUTION: An optical scanning apparatus comprises an optical source and a deflecting disc(11,111) being rotatable dis placed above the optical source and diffraction-transmitting the light from the optical source, and many mirrors to change the optical path by reflecting the light diffraction-transmitted by the deflection disc. The deflection disc is configured to have a low density diffraction pattern corresponding to an image region(I) and a high density diffraction pattern corresponding to a non-image region(N), each pattern being formed continuously, and a discontinuous path of an optical scanning line is formed along the interface of the low density diffraction pattern and the high density diffraction pattern.
