PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the computational amount by a filter circuit when a signal is recorded/reproduced at a different sampling frequency for every channel, for performing reproduction using multiple loudspeakers for DVD audio. SOLUTION: An up-sampling information detecting means 6 is arranged as up-sampling information, and it is judged whether or not the information are samples before up-sampling processing by up-sampling means 2a, 2b. And, a signal after up-sampling is processed by filtering through a half-band filter circuit 3, and is recorded on a recording medium 8 after a loss-less compression.
