SOLUTION: In this camera, a lens setting detection circuit 40 detects the state of a lens setting detection switch 41 to judge an interchangeable lens is set or not. Based on this result, a body CPU 14 inhibits the photographing operation and automatically sets the monitor mode, the communication mode, or the like and changes setting of various operation switches 37 if the interchangeable lens is not set.
