PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To join at low cost by installing a commutator body for fixing both segments joined in a ring shape, containing metal in a projection part of a carbon segment, and caulking the projection part inserted into a through hole of a metal segment. SOLUTION: The content of metal in a projection part is preferable to be 60-100 wt.% based on the weight of carbon. A projection part 3 formed in each carbon segment of a carbon member is inserted into a through hole formed in each metal segment of a metal member 10, and the projection part 3 is caulked. The carbon member and the metal member 10 joined are fixed to a commutator body 30 with a claw 14 formed in the metal segment. The carbon member and the metal member 10 fixed to the commutator main body 30 are divided into a plurality of segments having the same shape with a blade. By dividing, the carbon segments and the metal segments are arranged in a ring shape on the commutator body 30.
