PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the subject purification method comprising easily removing monoclonal antibody and/or virus left in a thrombin substrate or inhibitor afforded by purification using monoclonal antibody by making use of a new and inexpensive separation/purification means with a simple operation and in a short man-hour. SOLUTION: This purification method comprises purifying one thrombin substrate or inhibitor purified using a monoclonal antibody by affinity chromatography using an affinity adsorbent bearing, as ligand, thrombin or a thrombin-like substance freed from nucleophilicity (deactivated) without causing steric hindrance in its binding to the substrate and/or inhibitor.
