PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a preparation process of a thermoplastic resin composition containing a polyphenylene ether and a polyamide which has an improved thermal stability at processing and practical use and maintains high flowing properties, ability to inhibit bleeding on the surface of molded parts, etc. SOLUTION: In a preparation process of a thermoplastic resin composition containing the following components (A)-(D), wherein the weight ratio of (A)/(B) is from 1/99 to 99/1, the amount of (C) is sufficient for compatibilizing (A) and (B) and the amount of (D) is, against 100 pts.wt. the total amount of (A) and (B), from 0.01 to 2 pts.wt., a melt kneading process is a composite process comprising two or three steps. (A): A polyphenylene ether, (B): a polyamide, (C): a compatible agent (D): tetrakis(2,4-ditertiary butyl-5-methylphenyl)-4,4'- biphenylenediphosphonite.
