PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent oxidative degradation of copper, copper alloy or the like and improve safety as well as reliability in a refrigerating cycle, by employing hydrocarbon refrigerant containing sulfur constituents as refrigerant and consisting of a compressor, a condenser, a pressure reducer and an evaporator connected sequentially through pipelines. SOLUTION: A refrigerating cycle for a refrigerating device is formed of a compressor (a), a compressing hydrocarbon refrigerant and discharging the same into a condenser (b), the condenser (b), a pressure reducer (capillary tube) (c), an evaporator (d) and the like, which are connected sequentially through a refrigerant pipe (e). A sulfur adsorbing agent or preferably a sulfur removing device (f), accommodating zeolite is interposed in one part of such a refrigerating cycle. According to this method, sulfur constituents in the refrigerant are adsorbed whereby the oxidative degradation of component parts consisting of copper or the like is prevented. On the other hand, refrigerating machine oil employed for the refrigerating cycle is preferable to be selected from base oil, such as naphthene oil, paraffin oil, alkyl benzene oil or the like which is provided with the fluidizing point of not higher than -15 deg.C.
