PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an automatic focus detector that a focusing position can be accurately detected even when a high-luminance object is included by detecting the focusing position based on the integrated values of a first and a second integration means. SOLUTION: By a HPF 201, a high-frequency component included in a photographed picture is extracted. By a first base clip circuit 203a, the component of the high-frequency component of not more than a first threshold value is eliminated and outputted. By a second base clip circuit 203b, the component of the high-frequency component of not more than a second threshold value being larger in comparison with the first threshold value and outputted. By the first integrating unit 204a, the integrated value is calculated by integrating the outputs of the first clip circuit 203a. By the second integrating unit 204b, the integrated value is calculated by integrating the outputs of the second clip circuit 203b. By an arithmetic circuit 305, the focusing position is detected based on the integrated values of the first and the second units 204a and 204b. Thus, the focusing position can be accurately detected by simple and small-scale circuit constitution. |
