PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the fitness with a wheel required for a rail for a passenger railway. SOLUTION: This pearlitic steel rail excellent in fitness with a wheel is the one in which the structure of the part to a depth of 0.2 to 0.5 mm from the corner part of the head of the rail and the surface of the top part is formed of the pearlitic one having hardness of 220 to <250 Hv, and, moreover, the structure of the part on the side inner than the rail compared to this part and also at least to a depth of 15 mm from the corner part of the head of the rail and the surface part of the top part is formed of the pearlitic one having hardness of 250 to 280 Hv.
