The spectrometer is a Rowland arrangement with semiconductor line sensors or photomultiplier tubes and two concave dispersion grids (1,2) with identical radii of curvature, which are arranged so that the focal circles of the two grids are coincident. There is only one entry gap (6) for the first grid (1), which forms a virtual entry gap for the second grid (2).
