PURPOSE: A compact-type air conditioner is provided to reduce the drive condition of an evaporator fan through the reduction of air pressure passing the whole air path and to largely decrease the noise level as the speed of driving a fan and exhausting air currents is reduced. CONSTITUTION: A fan(20) absorbs indoor air in an axial direction crossing an evaporator(25) through a front grill(11). The cooled air is collided against a partition(22) and turned at an angle of 90 degrees on the axial line of the fan after passing the fan from an orifice(23). Then, the air radially flows into a room again through louvers(117,18,19) placed on an inner cabinet(10). Also, the air is exhausted to the room by mounting the louvers on a base(14) in a space between a plane(24) and the partition.
