PURPOSE: A method for locking a screen and a key on a digital television set is provided to prevent children watching a program for adults only, by locking the screen and the key when a viewer temporarily leaves a place while watching the program, and to prevent a halt of a downloading operation when receiving a download of a program with a high capacity. CONSTITUTION: A method for locking a screen and a key on a digital television set comprises steps of locking the screen and the key and of releasing the screen and the key. The step of locking comprises the steps of: inputting a locking key; and ignoring a key operation as on-screen-displaying a locking state on a screen of a TV set, when the locking key is inputted. The step of releasing the locking comprises the steps of: requiring input of a predetermined password when a lock releasing key is inputted; inputting the password; examining whether the inputted password is the same with the preset password; releasing a key locked state when the password is the same, and requiring re-input when the password is not the same. When a user inputs the locking key, the screen and the key are locked. When the user inputs the lock releasing key, the screen and the key are released through a predetermined procedure. |
