PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a proper massaging effect constantly despite the personal difference of a user in the diameter of legs fitted into two grooves or the like by a method wherein two grooves, right and left, are formed at a leg support part of a chair and a plurality of air cells are arranged in both the grooves to grasp legs fitted into the grooves with the expansion or reduction thereof as caused by the supply or discharge of air. SOLUTION: A foot rest 5 of a chair-type massaging apparatus 100 concurrently serves as massaging device 110 and a pair of grooves 65 are formed thereinto to place legs of a user. In other words, a pair of right and left grooves 65 are formed between both right and left side wall parts 63 and a central wall part 64. A plurality of air cells 66 and 67 are arranged respectively on internal surfaces 63a of both the right and left side wall parts and external surfaces 64a of a central wall part. The air cells 66 and 67 are expanded to grasp and press both sides of legs to be exclusively used for calves 66 and for ankles 67 and driven individually. Thus, a proper massaging effect is obtained despite personal difference in the diameter of the legs or the like.
