PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a quick absorption of excrement running sideways in a disposable diaper by solving a problem of prolonged retention of the excrement without being absorbed. SOLUTION: Leg gathers are arranged by joining each one side rim part of side sheets 10a and 10b separately on a liquid impermeable back sheet extended to both outsides of an absorbing body of a long-sized body where the absorbing body 3 is disposed between a liquid permeable top sheet 2 and the liquid impermeable back sheet 1 and the side sheets further extended inward are joined on the liquid permeable top sheet by seal lines 12a and 12b arranged in the longitudinal direction to for the side sheet inward from the seal lines into solid gathers 7a and 7b. In a disposable diaper thus arranged, a discontinued seal line is formed separately inward from both side rims of the absorbing body.
