PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an opening/closing device for fluid which is small in size, light in weight, simple in structure, and highly reliable in operation. SOLUTION: In a support member 9 made of chlorinated butyl rubber, an opening 2 on the inlet side and an opening 3 on the outlet side, each serving as a joint to which a supply pipe is connected, and a through-passage consisting of an opening for the communication of the opening 2 on the inlet side and the opening 3 on the outlet side are formed. A valve element 20 comprising two platelike shape-memory alloys is supported in the through-passage so as to be deformable for switching back and forth between the blocked state and communicating state of the through-passage. The two shape-memory alloys are joined together in the caulking area 16 of their ends. The shape-memory alloys 5 are deformed by causing a current to flow in the valve element 20 through electrode leads 7, so that the through-passage in the support member 9 communicates by an empty space between the two shape-memory alloys 5. By stopping the supply of the current to the valve element 20, the shape-memory alloys 5 return to their original states by the elastic force of the support member 9, and the through-passage is consequently blocked. |
