PURPOSE: An apparatus for monitoring recorded picture of a combined VCR/TV is provided to monitor the recording progress and the state of recorded picture by displaying the recorded picture on the sub screen during watching a TV. The recorded picture is displayed by PIP if the TV viewer sets the monitor of the picture being recorded in the case of the record using a VCR. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for monitoring recorded picture of a complex TV capable of PIP and having VCR(14) includes a monitor key(17) for monitoring the picture being recorded in a VCR(14), a microcomputer(13) loading the picture being recorded into the VCR(14) if the monitor have been set for the monitor being recorded by powering the monitor key(17) and displaying the recorded picture loaded to the sub screen by operating PIP.
