PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the header pipe of a heat exchanger in which the attaching characteristic of a partition plate is improved. SOLUTION: A header pipe 3 of a heat exchanger having partition plate holes 32 into which partition plates 6 are inserted and an inner part partitioned by the partition plates 6. When the partition plate 6 is inserted into the partition plate hole 32, the partition plate 6 is fixed thereto by generating galling in a sliding contact part between the partition plate 6 and the partition plate hole 32. Further, the partition plate 6 has a flat edge part 61 soldered to the inner surface of the header pipe 3 and a tapered part 62 whose thickness becomes smaller toward the edge part 61.
